 Resources

Imaginative resources for teachers, artists and youth leaders.

The following resources can be used by schools and youth workers who are looking for creative approaches to teaching Global Citizenship. We recommend you use them alongside other RISC resources which can be found on our education pages.

The following packs have been produced with artists and RISC's education team and have been the results of projects in the class room and the community. Within all the packs you will find examples of work produced from the activities. They also include links to other useful resources and activities.

We would love to see the results of any of the activities tried out from these packs. Please send any images and feedback to shehnoor@risc.org.uk

Hormigon Armado: Make your own newspaper

Let It Be Heard paper was inspired by a street newspaper in La Paz, Hormigon Armado, written and distributed by homeless young people living in the city as a positive form of protest for social and economic change. The following resource can be used by young people, teachers and youth leaders to produce their own paper.

It contains articles, interviews and images from the paper 'Hormigon Armado' on the lives of the young people with activities encouraging young people to look critically at the British media as well as links to other useful resources.

pARTicipate 0110

Over the last two years RISC and The October Gallery have delivered a range of Creative Professional Development seminars and outreach workshops which focus on the work of several international artists represented by the October Gallery. By working in collaboration with teachers, artists and pupils, this series of events has informed the production of our Participate Teacher Resource Packs.

Each pack focuses on an individual artist and contains information on their background, country of origin, themes in their work and how they relate to the curriculum for Global Citizenship. The packs are also full useful links to other Global Citizenship teaching resources, as well as providing examples of creative activities that have been trialled in schools.

This online resource has been developed to give teachers easy access to Participate Teacher Resource Packs. The website is navigable by artist, country of origin and Global Citizenship curriculum, with useful links made between themes, artists and activity resources.
