Global Youth project

 0044

Fair trade fortnight, fair fashion highstreet performance

Over the last year we have been developing our work with young people in partnership with Reading Youth Service and with teachers to engage young people in taking steps to build a future they would want to live in. The project aims to give young people the skills to build the instruments that will enable the voices to be heard. The Let it be heard section of this site is managed by young people, Take a look and if you are a budding young activists or artists then join the group!

We aim to:

  • To develop young people as leaders to promote actions for change amongst their peers and community (sharing their knowledge and skills with others). For young people to develop and lead a global youth group in Reading
  • A deeper understanding of local and global environmental and social issues
  • To look for positive solutions using creative approaches
  • To establish networks and connections with activists from other parts of the world
  • To provide opportunities to learn and develop their creative skills and talents
  • To give young people a platform which empowers young people to express their ideas and opinions on issues that are important to them and affect their future.

Arts Award

RISC is an Arts Award assessment centre. Young people aged between 13 - 19 can obtain a bronze or silver Arts Award by participating in our project. The art Award aim to inspire and develop young young people as leaders. We aim to give young people the opportunity to develop thier own skills by working with artists, which they are then able to share with their peers and the community.
