Training to achieve the Global Teachers Award

 

The Award supports teachers in developing skills, confidence and practical approaches to incorporate global learning in the curriculum and promote informed, active global citizenship with pupils. The Award consists of a series of training courses with the one-day Level 1 course launched in autumn 2011 and Levels
2 and 3 to be offered from 2012.

RISC’s Education Team has been validated, through Liverpool Hope University, to deliver this award. This award is for individual teachers, but can also be booked for whole school staff. Level 1 can be delivered on an INSET day, or as a series of twilights.

To achieve the award participants need to deliver and evaluate a global learning activity in their school, during the 3 months following their course, then send evidence of this to the course tutor. Once this has been satisfactorily completed, Liverpool Hope University will issue the award

Cost: £100+vat for individual teachers, with an additional £10 admin fee per person for the certificate

You can attend Global Teacher Award Level 1 training at RISC on

Saturday 26^th May 2012, 10.00 – 5.00 or 

Wednesday 13^th June and Tuesday 26^th June 2012 (two afternoons) 1.30 – 4.30

In addition, those attending our next 3 day Global Citizenship Advocates Course will also be able to achieve level 1
