"Permaculture is a vision, taking us beyond sustainability"
The term was coined in the late 70's by
Australian ecologists Bill Mollison and David Holmgren to describe an active
kind of relationship with nature. If nature, in the wild as it were, is
naturally sustainable surely if we copy those princples then we can construct
sutainable systems ourselves which are dynamic, robust and endlessesly productive.

Permaculture in Australia
There are many good books on the subject and is
certainly one of them, from Mr Homgren himself, the quiet one of the permaculture
co-founders (the
other being Bill Mollison.) With many excellent links to sites
and projects around the world from David's site.
