Carbon control has a carbon footprint calculator designed for KS2-3 which uses government approved data sets and projects to tackle climate change.
Climate change: The human impact is a selection of resources for KS2-4 from Oxfam which help pupils understand the risks and vulnerability to climate change faced by the world's poorest people. Examines the need for a fair global deal for tackling climate change.
Climate change: Responses is a selection of resources for KS2-4 from Oxfam which looks at how people around the world, including the UK, are adapting to the impact of climate change.
Climate Choices - Children's Voices is an online resource for KS2 produced by Practical Action. It helps children understand the urgent need for adaptation and mitigation to climate change by looking at how food choices impact on climate change and how climate change is affecting food supply. Includes a range of resources, including video clips, presentations, games and worksheet-based activities.
Floating Gardens in Bangladesh is a good example of adapting to flooding promoted by Practical Action. The activity sheet for KS1-4+ includes how to make a floating garden for a washing up bowl or pond.
Carbon detectives is sponsored by DCSF and provides another online carbon footprint calculator for KS2-3 children and teacher toolkit which encouages a wholeschool approach to carbon reduction which ties in with the Sustaianble Schools Framework.
Crazy Climate is a toolbox for KS2 from Christian Aid which explores climate change and poverty. It includes a poster, class activities, assembly, powerpoint and board game.
