What
Global offers: At Global we want to make you feel at home, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the cafe is well ventilated with smoking and non-smoking areas. The food is freshly prepared, imaginative and made from fresh ingredients - some are even grown in the roof garden above. There is wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and we open late on Fridays and Saturdays.
We play excellent music, but keep the volume low enough to allow normal converstation. We keep things interesting with a wide range of drinks and snacks, regular events of our own as well as playing host to events staged by other local groups. Global is designed to compliment RISC's other work and we hope a visit to the Cafe might encourage people to get involved in global issues. Find out more by visiting the Reading Room, or better still, come and visit!
Global's aim is to bring you tastes and flavours from around the world, a celebration of diversity, freshly prepared by our own chef.
Global Cafe and RISC have links to a wide range of campaigning and membership organisations and the Cafe provides an excellent setting for awareness raising events. For example we are currently developing links with the All Nations Cafe in Jerusalem, who are planning a trip to the UK to highlight some of their work via presentations and multi cultural dance/music performances, as well as look at working together in the fields of education, fair trade, culture and sustainability.
