Come and learn to dance Salsa with Sharon & Ed in relaxed and friendly Salsa classes at RISC - every Tuesday and and on the third Saturday of every month - always followed by salsa dancing or a salsa club night.

**Special Salsa Classes for Absolute Beginners**
We have special Salsa classes for Absolute Beginners at all of our sessions, so there's no need to worry - you won't be the only one! We take you slowly and enjoyably through the very basics of Salsa - we want you to have fun while you learn!
Don't worry if you feel like you have two left feet and no sense of rhythm - most people feel like that when they first come. There's no need to book and you don't need to bring a partner. In fact, most people turn up solo! Salsa classes run all year round so come along whenever you're free.

You can join the classes whenever you want (the sooner the better tho' 'cos you'll say why didn't I start sooner:-). The classes are 'drop-in' i.e. NOT a course of 'x' lessons - you come every week or two weeks or when you can. We have 4 classes - Absolute Beginners, Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate.
Don't worry about being a beginner - everyone does! There are loads (10-20) of new people every week - all worried that they might not fit in/be able to dance/have two left feet/be looked at/judged/etc. No chance. Within 10 minutes of the class starting you'll be having a laugh (and learning); the people are all nice (and all ages); and noone is hung up on whether you or they can dance. It'll be the same as going out for the evening down to the pub - only you'll be doing stuff all night AND enjoying yourself.

Wear casual clothes (anything you'd be happy going to the pub in or shopping) jeans, trousers, skirt,t-shirt,blouse whatever - the main thing is that you will soon heat up so lightish clothes are in order. On your feet bring two pairs of shoes - one with a slippy sole (leather/plastic) the other with more grip (but not trainers - they'll strain your knee) - heel= low(ish) but again whatever you're comfortable with. There is No uniform - it's NOT like Ballroom Dancing (it more of a street dance). Do come along - you will enjoy it; don't worry - everyone thinks they will stand out but it's not like that. We start with everyone in a circle, tell the guys to partner up with the woman on their left (most people do NOT come with a friend/partner), talk people through the steps, move the partners on,practice the steps, finish with a dance, turn the lights down, go to the bar, sit, talk, dance, dance, talk, sit,go to the bar, etc. I'll stop here 'cos I can easily go on but do e-mail me any further questions you have!
