Dave
is a qualified teacher and joined RISC in 1989, after ten
years working with unemployed young people on community conservation
projects and a city farm in Bristol.
He has travelled extensively as a photographer covering development
issues - indigenous peoples' rights in the Philippines, child
labour in Nepal, tourism in Goa, rural development in Burkina
Faso… His photos have been used by the British Museum, DfID,
New Internationalist, One World Week, VSO.
He
has produced several teaching resource packs for RISC, exploring
development education themes
– Reading's global connections,
- inequality and the media
- world music
- globalisation
- corporate spin and
- the impact of transnational corporations.
Dave is responsible for RISC's in-house graphic design - from
posters for our inhouse events and information leaflets to
educational exhibitions. He also runs training courses for
VSO and other development organisations
