Including
recommended teaching materials linked to the National Curriculum
All these artefacts are available for loan, via the RISC
loan service.
Items
may be borrowed for up to half a term for a small fee: 15 items will cost £15 and each additional 15 items an extra £10. There is a minimum fee of £5. The service is free to student teachers. You will also need
to leave a cheque as a deposit. This may be a personal or a
school cheque. We will destroy it when the items are returned
in good condition, or, if you ask us, we will return it to you.
Typically a deposit would be £100 to £200 for a box of 15 artefacts.
Search
the Artefacts database
We
currently have over 1,800 items in the collection and we are constantly adding them to the online data base. Why not
have a browse and see what kind of things are available?
You
can browse by curriculum area, country of origin and type of
artefact.
To
reserve the artefacts in advance by email. Please make sure
that you tell us:
-
The title and code (e.g. PUP043) of each item
- The
date when you would like to collect them.
-
The date when you will return them.
We
will then confirm availability and advise you of the fee and
deposit by email. Collection and return are possible any time
the World Shop is open (Monday to Saturday 9.30 to 5.30). It
is best if you can give us at least two weeks' notice. If you
would like more information, or if you would like to arrange
a time to visit the collection, please get in touch.
To avoid disappointment, please do not rely on being able to
drop in when you visit the World Shop since we are not always
available. |
