British Association for Fair Trade Shops BAFTS is a network of independent Fair Trade shops across the UK. It was established in 1995 and seeks to promote Fair Trade retailing in the UK. It is also a member of the Network of European World Shops and is an information, support and campaigning organisation for its members. At RISC we are a member of BAFTS, and in both our World Shop and Global Cafe you will fine numerous examples of Fair Trade goods. Objectives To promote Fair Trade retailing in Britain and to become an effective and influential voice for Fair Trade retailers To raise the profile of Fair Trade shops which adhere to a national framework of agreed criteria, both on the high street and as an economic and political reality To be a link between Fair Trade shops, providing good contact and comunication for information, advice and activities To work at a European level to promote Fair Trade and to be a fully participating member of the Network of European World Shops What does BAFTS offer its members?
