The Forum aims to highlight, promote and celebrate international activities, links and solidarity in Reading. The theme of this year is Who owns the Global Commons? It raises serious questions about who controls the water in our lakes, rivers and seas, and the air we breathe. Who controls the land on which animals vegetation and people depend? Who has the right to extract the earth’s minerals or damage our ecosystem for economic gain?
The Festival includes some of Black History Month and The Uhuru International Film Festival events. One World Week is also included, with the theme Living for One World.
If your organisation is planning an event, theatre, workshop, feast, celebration, music, talk or film with an international dimension during this time, why not get it included FREE in this year’s Festival Leaflet. All participating groups help to distribute 10,000 leaflets. Information about criteria and dates contact Bente Madeira : 0118 958 6692.
